2 Chronicles 31

CHAPTER 31

The High Places Demolished

1And as [3were completed 1all 2these things], [3went forth 1all 2Israel], the ones being found in the cities of Judah, and they broke the monuments, and knocked down the sacred groves, and tore down the high places, and demolished the altars from all Judea, and Benjamin, and from Ephraim, and from Manasseh, unto completion. And [3returned 1all 2Israel] each unto his inheritance, and unto their cities. 2And Hezekiah ordered the daily rotations of the priests and of the Levites, and the daily rotations of each according to his ministration, to the priests and to the Levites, for the whole burnt-offering, and for the sacrifice of deliverance, and to praise, and to acknowledge, and to officiate at the gates in the courtyards of the house of the lord. 3And the portion of the king from his possessions were appointed for the whole burnt-offerings -- the early morning and the dusk, and for the whole burnt-offerings of the Sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the holidays, the ones being written in the law of the lord. 4And he spoke to the people, to the ones dwelling in Jerusalem, to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, so that they should grow strong in the ministry of the house of the lord. 5And as he assigned the word, [4were superabundant 1the 2sons 3of Israel] in first-fruit of grain, and wine, and olive oil, and honey, and every offspring of the field. And [7a tenth 8of all 9in 10multitude 6brought 1the 2sons 3of Israel 4and 5Judah]. 6And the ones dwelling in the cities of Judah also themselves brought a tenth of the calves, and sheep, and a tenth of the goats. And they sanctified to the lord their God. And they carried in and put heaps upon heaps. 7In the [2month 1third] [3began 1the 2heaps] to be founded; and in the [2month 1seventh] they were completed. 8And [5came 1Hezekiah 2and 3the 4rulers] and saw the heaps, and they blessed the lord, and his people Israel. 9And Hezekiah inquired of the priests and of the Levites concerning the heaps. 10And [9spoke 10to 11him 1Azariah 2the 3priest 4the 5ruler 6of the 7house 8of Zadok], and he said, From of which time [3began 1the 2first-fruit] to be brought into the house of the lord, we ate and drank, and we left behind unto in abundance. For the lord blessed his people, and we left behind still this multitude. 11And Hezekiah spoke to prepare cubicles in the house of the lord; and they prepared. 12And they carried in there the first-fruits, and the tenth parts in trust. And over them for supervisor was Cononiah the Levite, and Shimei his brother relieving, 13and Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah being placed by Cononiah and Shimei his brother, as [4assigned 1Hezekiah 2the 3king], and Azariah the leader of the house of the lord. 14And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the gatekeeper according to the east, was over the gifts, to give the first-fruits of the lord, and the holy things of the holies, 15through the hand of Eden and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, and Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities through the hand of the priests in trust, to give to their brethren according to the daily rotations, according to the great and the small; 16outside of the genealogy of the males from three years and up, to all entering into the house of the lord, for a reckoning of days in its day, for ministration of daily rotation of their arrangement. 17This is the distribution of the priests according to the houses of their families; and the Levites in their daily rotations from twenty years and up, in arrangement, 18in classification, in all genealogy of their sons, and their daughters, in the entire multitude, (for in trust they sanctified the holy,) 19and to the sons of Aaron, to the ones officiating as priests in the country areas, and in their cities, in every city, and a city where men who were named by name to give a portion to every male among the priests, and to every one being counted among the Levites. 20And [3did 1thus 2Hezekiah] in all Judah, and he did the good and the upright, and the true before the lord his God. 21And in every work in which he began in the work in the house of the lord, and in the law, and in the orders, he sought after his God from [2entire 3soul 1his]. And he acted, and his way prospered.
